Designed for nonprofit, philanthropy, and business leaders who have experienced growth and are committed to equity in uncertain times.

What you can expect from an internal assessment

You can’t fix what you can’t see.

Our assessments evaluate your organization's culture, practices, leadership approaches, and ability to adapt to change. Through surveys, interviews, and focus groups, we gather your team’s perspectives and best ideas to paint a clear picture of where you are and where you can grow.

Key Areas We Assess:

  • Leadership and governance

  • Talent recruitment, development, and retention

  • Organizational culture and inclusion

  • Stakeholder engagement

  • Program evaluation

  • Communications and branding

Outcome: A comprehensive, customized report with actionable recommendations for next steps.

Provides a snapshot of where you are today.

We customize assessments to each client's specific needs. Most assessments include a combination of the following options:

  • Internal Systems Review: A review of your systems to determine if the necessary processes are present to support your work.

  • Employee Handbook and Practice Review: A review of your employee handbook, as well as any stand-alone policies from an equity perspective, includes compliance with state and federal laws.

Strategic Priorities Review: This review is a check-in on your strategic plan to update it based on today's landscape.

  • Compensation Review: A review of your organization’s compensation practices that ensures consistency, equity, and transparency based on key factors (e.g., the Fair Labor Standards Act).

  • Workplace Culture Survey: This survey identifies strengthens and opportunities in the employee experience.

What to expect from an internal assessment

  1. Discovery Session: Understand your goals, context, and scope.

  2. Data Gathering: Surveys, interviews, document reviews (customized to your needs).

Case Study of an Organizational Internal Assessment — Data Guides Us.

A large nonprofit human services agency hired Stamey Street to conduct an organizational assessment. The case study includes the situation, the adaptive challenge facing our client, the solution, results, and lessons learned.

Case Study of an Internal Systems & Practice Review — We walk the talk!

A small boutique consulting firm grew from one person to ten employees and contractors. With that growth came a need for new processes and practices. Our task was to design an information management system to manage the flow of project tasks and information.

“Our team had a wonderful experience working with Stamey Street Consulting. From the initial conversations about our proposal through the completion of the project, Stamey Street was a conscientious thought partner. Their team brought multidisciplinary expertise to the work and were explicit and transparent in the explanations of their approach.”
