How to Identify Your Organizational Values

Values are connected to your mission and can be operationalized in tangible ways.

To operationalize a value is to give it meaning.

The desired outcome is a set of organizational values specific to your team. Values are incredibly important to building an organization that feels equitable to everyone.

How to use the tool:

  1. Review your organizational values. Start with what has already been publicly stated in your mission or vision statements.

  2. Now, add meaning. Describe what this value looks like in practice. For example, if respect is an organizational value. Identify what it means to show respect or feel respected in your organization.
